A geography quiz with three kinds of question
The capital questions run in both directions – given Haiti, find Port-au-Prince; given Ljubljana, find Slovenia. The continent questions hand you a country and four continents. The flag questions draw the flag itself and ask whose it is. All of it comes from the one verified table this whole site is generated from, so the geography trivia here never disagrees with the flag pages or the capitals pages next door.
The traps worth naming
Kingstown is the capital of Saint Vincent and the Grenadines – one letter and one island chain away from Kingston, Jamaica, and the options include Jamaica to see whether you flinch. Several capitals in the mix sit a long way down the world’s name-recognition list, and several continent answers are settled by filing convention rather than by the ground: this bank places Russia in Europe, and Turkey, Cyprus, Georgia, Armenia, Azerbaijan and Kazakhstan in Asia. If one of those answers feels like a robbery, the border you are thinking of is real; a quiz simply has to pick one side of it.
Replaying the same two dozen
