Chill out in this stunning copper Cuprosa Bateau bath from William Holland, makers of luxury baths and basins. They’re the only company in Europe specializing in design and manufacture of copper baths, after realizing there was a lack of 19th French original bateaus around. Handcrafted from copper and brass and taking around 120 hours to create, these baths are deep (no cold shoulders here) and surprisingly light (a standard bath weighs 45 kg) and one of the big draws is that the baths retain the heat from the water, so expect to spend hours in it… They can be finished in tin, nickel, patina, or even gold or silver for some serious bling. William Holland is currently planning a “working showroom” in their tithe barn, so anyone interested can try out the bath - no passing festival goers allowed…Suppliers to some of the top hotels, including Babington House Cowshed spa and Summer Lodge these don’t come cheap at £3567 + vat for a standard size Bateau but with a good book this is one bath you won’t want to get out of.
Moving on we’ve fallen for this handcrafted Bumble Bee design wallpaper from famed Dorset company Farrow and Ball. Best known for their paints and needing no intro they also make a huge range of beautiful artisan wallpapers. Made using real (environmentally friendly water based) F&B paints and traditional block printing methods. As always their amazing palettes make it hard to choose the Queen bee – but we’ve settled on the lovely blue BP555 (samples available) and the green BP 547 from the Papers 5 collection. This independent company still operates out of its base in Dorset as it has for the past 60 years. Costing £70 per 10m roll, any room covered in this is going to be somewhere to seriously hang out. Available online or at many local stores, with showrooms in Bath, Bristol and Wimborne and in local interiors shop including Compton Smith, Shaftesbury.
Guests will be fighting to sit down in this limited edition pair of Vintage Wingback Chairs from The Merchant Fox, based in Somerset. They’re covered in a green Glen check in traditional flannel from Fox Brothers woollen mill which was started in Somerset in 1772 and is credited with being the originator of flannel. Fox Flannel is steeped in history and has been worn by the likes of Cary Grant, Winston Churchill and the Duke of Windsor and is now the choice of many top fashion houses and Savile Row. These beech framed chairs have high comfortable backs and cost £2,900 for the pair. The Merchant Fox also offers a bespoke service often combining their Fox Brothers flannel with beautifully designed luxury products.
