Wells Reclamation, Coxley, Wells, Somerset, 01749 677087

This family run business sprawls over five acres and is one of the largest and oldest in the country dealing in architectural salvage and antiques. Be prepared for the out of the ordinary here as you will currently find a Russian T34 tank, a 1958 Bloodhound missle and some Tornado Jet Fighter Cone covers amongst the staddlestones, oak beams, reclaimed building materials, a vast range of natural stone flooring and huge garden statues. Prices are highly competitive. Inside you will find solid wood kitchen units, a huge array of new, antique and vintage furniture, reclaimed doors, period fireplaces and authentic period fittings for the home. A great online shop where you can have items delivered directly to you – their specially designed cast iron bread oven doors are sold all over the world. If you need a huge statue of Buddha or the Wicked Witch of the Swans you will find it here and you can even take an online tour of the yard.

Toby’s Reclamation, Station Road, Exeter, Devon, 01392 833499

Based in a former Victorian railway station, this is one of a handful that opens on Sundays too. Fancy fountains for your garden, gothic gates, great lights, including stunning pendant lights. Great garden kit, including pergolas, a rather fancy stag statue I have my eye on, temples and troughs. They even sell “folly kits” everything you need to build your own! Toby’s main focus is on bespoke kitchens – they design and build from scratch with new and/or reclaimed materials. The same goes for bespoke furniture. Great radiators including some rather beautiful French ones. Going for over 25 years, they supply both new and reclaimed materials, bricks, ironmongery and bespoke furniture. Currently undergoing a major refurb, this is one not to miss.

Glastonbury Reclamation, The Old Pottery, Northload Bridge, Glast, Somerset, 01458 831122

With the majority of their stock sourced from within Somerset, this yard is perfect for local house renovations and has had lots of recommendations. A tidy, well displayed yard with good stocks of competitively priced bricks, Blue Lias flagstones, building stone, roofing materials etc. Undercover there is a huge selection of doors with around 500 always in stock. Beams and floorboards in elm, oak and pine, antique tools, bygones and currently hundreds of vintage wooden fruit trays. Specialists in country furniture, you’ll find beautifully restored chest-of-drawers, wardrobes and farmhouse tables. A handful of industrial items including cabinets, pigeon hole units and a fantastic cast iron engineering table. The yard is run by a friendly, knowledgeable team, watched over by Ernie the springer spaniel.glastonbury reclamation yard

  • Simon

    Hi there,
My name is Simon Scott and i run SS Bricklaying Services in the Fife area, recently I managed to acquire two very large sandstone slabs. Not sure on the exact name of them but they we’re old cattle restrainers (I assume for injections) set in the ground approximately 1.5 feet apart, with two 1inch holes in each, for some sort of shackle as I cut one off and the other wasn’t present. Sizes are approximately 1.5m x 1.45m x 110mm and the other is 1.45m x 1.45m x 85mm.
I know these can be made into tables or a table and bench set and sold for a lot of money, but I don’t have the facilities to manoeuvre them around really or have time to look for a suitable pedestal.
Your the first company I’ve emailed so just wondered if they may take your interest?

    Regards

    Simon
